Senator Robin Padilla appealed to political analyst Ronald Llamas to lessen the criticism and reconsider his remarks, following Llamas’ statement that the senator was among the reasons many celebrities lost in the recent midterm elections.
Padilla defended his advocacy, saying he promotes voting for new leaders who are not famous, wealthy, or connected to political dynasties.
“Parang pinatutunayan niyo po ang sinasabi ng isang abogada na pangit po kasi kayo kaya diyan nanggaling ang galit niyo sa artista.”
He stressed that his intention is to encourage voters to support candidates based on merit rather than popularity or family connections.
