Baguio City — In a quiet act of compassion, a local taxi driver has been offering free rides to dialysis and emergency patients, inspired by the memory of his father who died from kidney disease.

Billy Bomogao, 41, has been working as a taxi driver for two years. For some time now, he has been voluntarily providing free transportation to patients who need to reach hospitals for treatment or urgent medical care, easing the burden on families already facing medical and financial challenges.

Bomogao used to drive his father to hospital appointments, giving him firsthand experience of the struggles faced by patients undergoing long-term treatment. Seeing other patients today reminds him of his father’s journey and motivates him to extend help whenever he can.

Despite the modest income of a taxi driver, Bomogao continues to prioritize helping those in need. He believes that even a small act of kindness can make a meaningful difference for people battling serious health conditions.

His story highlights the power of compassion in the community, showing how ordinary individuals can create extraordinary impact through simple acts of generosity.//via Bombo Cara Sacyaten
